Nothing is absolutly written in stone about his past. But he has dreams and there is a rumour that Shadow was Clyde Arrowny, a robber who worked with his friend Baram. When something happened to Baram he moved to Thamasa, fathered a child but soon left as Shadow. He has a dog called interceptor who is very friendly with Relm which leads you to think that perhaps Relm might be Shadows daughter...
