Former member of the Galbadian army, now president of the technically advanced Esthar. Ellone takes Squall back into the past and makes him experience what Laguna experienced in the past. Laguna first falls in love twice during the game, but both times the women he loves ends up dying before Laguna enters a serious relationship with them (Julia and Raine). Laguna protects the weak against forces that would malevolently dominate them.
